Julie Chen Moonves, who was one the original hosts and moderators for The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winning talk show) She returned on to host The Talk on August 5th for its 22nd episode. However, her true passion came when she added writer to her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for this. In addition, she won the Emmy for hosting and outstanding television talkshow. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News' early morning news program The Early Show for a 10 years. The anchor was for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program during the early hours of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq, among other major stories, on The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11 Chen Moonves uncovered the father and lead hijacker for an exciting and exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the Queen Rania of Jordan, the former defense secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News broadcast. He also interviewed celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Prior to The Early Show he was a CBS owned station reporter at New York City, WCBS. She also served as a producer at ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the network's affiliate news service as well as an assistant desk in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her senior year at University of Southern California. She started her career as an assistant for ABC News, working on the late-night news program Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still among Moonves' journalistic idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and examined the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
