Nancy O'Dell's first work in the industry of broadcast was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. After her time in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. She then became a part of Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. O'Dell is the anchor of choice for Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. The other shows she has hosted include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
